First-ever Pride Event on the North Shore to Happen This Summer

North Shore Pride, Inc. is announcing it’s inaugural community event, the North Shore Pride Parade and Celebration. The North Shore Pride parade and celebration will be held on June 30, 2012 in the city of Salem, MA. The parade will commence on New Derby Street, to Derby and Hawthorne Boulevard, culminating with a North Shore Pride celebration on the Salem Common. The celebration on the Salem Common will consist of education and entertainment events that promote the mission of North Shore Pride, Inc and its partnering with the greater North Shore community . The North Shore Pride parade celebration will be followed by a weekend long film festival in Salem, MA to promote education and unity of LGBT issues.

North Shore Pride, Inc is a non profit organization whose mission is to promote the general welfare, and enhance the social life of the gay, lesbian, bisexual and transgender (LGBT) community of the North Shore, and to promote the acceptance of the members of this community by the broader North Shore community. To carry out these purposes, the organization will engage in activities designed to promote greater understanding of LGBT issues, educate the members of the LGBT community on issues of importance to them and engage in fundraising activities, partnering with individuals and organizations, in furtherance of its stated purpose.

The North Shore Pride Parade event is North Shore Pride’s kick off event and we are hopeful the greater North Shore community will join with us on June 30, 2012.
